Pay 2022: Campaign Archive
You might think that in the midst of a potentially devastating cost of living crisis that a responsible employer would act quickly to intervene and come to the aid of the workers they relied on. Sadly, this was not the case for NatWest Group. After our previous newsletter, the bank had failed to meet with Unite to begin negotiating a cost of living intervention. This newsletter was published in June 2022 and was intended to add pressure.
As with our last Cost of Living newsletter, this one used a more visual approach rather than a ‘wall of text email.’ We still hadn’t developed our visual style or our design skills, but at least we were saying the right thing and our comms did not look corporate.

On June 21st Unite the Union National Officer Caren Evans wrote to the bank formally asking them to do the right thing and to pay all grades A-C staff a consolidated cost of living payment of f2000. Watch this space for further updates.
Come on NatWest – do the right thing and pay your workers!
Sadly at unite we have had many members telling us that every month is a struggle, with many very worried as to how they will manage as living costs continue to increase. As noted above we have approached the bank and asked them to make a payment of £2000 to those workers on grades A-C, we believe such a payment will help mitigate against the cost of living crisis.
We are keen to hear what you think about this and how the cost of living crisis is affecting you. Email us on rbsinfo@unitetheunion.org and let us know. It is important that this message reaches as many workers as possible so please forward it onto your friends and colleagues within NatWest Group.
